How it works
With our national network of over 200+ medical specialists and allied health professionals, we connect our clients to medical experts that provide their independent medical opinion by assessing individuals who have been impacted by injury or illness.
Our independent medical assessments are conducted in-person, or by virtual examination using secured video conferencing software, or a ‘desktop’ review where documentation related to the individual is evaluated.
We then work with your chosen medical expert/s to provide you with a verbal and/or written medical opinion that helps you understand the situation at hand including any limitations, restrictions and impact of the injury or illness of the individual.
Fitness for duty assessments (Red Fit)
Red Fit helps you understand an employee’s physical and/or psychological capacity to perform the inherent requirements of their role.
Our medical experts consider task analysis, role descriptions, and any incident reports along with the medical examination to confirm a diagnosis, determine suitable duties, and provide advice on return to work or alternative roles that might suit the employee. They will also answer any specific questions you may wish to ask them.
Employers typically request a fitness for duty assessment to help them adhere to their work health and safety obligations. Our medical experts can carry out Fitness for Duty assessments for work-related and non-work-related injuries or illnesses.

Independent Medical Assessments, the easy way
Virtual IMEs (Red Connect)
Red Connect is our virtual Independent Medical Examination service that allows an assessment to take place online using video conferencing software, which is ideal if an individual can’t travel due to medical or financial restrictions.
Our Red Connect service can be used for both psychological and physical assessments. To maintain our high level of quality, we utilise experienced allied health practitioners as a ‘surrogate’ who undertake any necessary testing under the direct instruction and guidance of the medical examiner. These findings are then given to the examiner to help them form their independent medical opinion.
Our in-house IT team performs a series of equipment tests before the appointment to ensure the visual and sound quality is up to a high standard. All you need is Wi-Fi, a laptop or desktop, and an email address.

Desktop assessments (Red Review)
For cases where you don’t need a physical assessment, or it’s not an option, Red Review might be the way to go. These desktop assessments, or file reviews, can offer the reliable and cost effective medical opinion you need to get the answers you desire.
